Tumbleweed and Alligator
Thoughts and Ramblings of a West Texas Native and a Cajun Poser
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

A little About Me...
I'm a writer, a blogger, and a journaler (is that even a word?). I have an opinion on most topics, and a West Texas and small-town perspective on all topics. My purpose for writing has always been a desire to share my faith, be of some kind of inspiration to others, and to do it in a way that represents a personal journey not unlike the reader's. I have faith in God, but I want to have people understand that they must also "have faith in you". Tumbleweed and Alligator, Ginger LeCompte, Have Faith in You - all part of my identity.
I was raised in West Texas - lived in Lubbock until age 7, then in Lamesa until age 18, followed by a time in Amarillo, Midland, Odessa, and finally found myself in Chalmette, Louisiana (New Orleans). I married a "full-bleed" Cajun with a heritage steeped in Cajun Culture. Attending college in every place I've lived, it was inevitably interrupted by "life". But, through those life experiences, professional work, and entrepreneurial endeavors, I have more than proven myself as a personal and professional mentor in the areas of nonprofit management and social responsibility.
I lived and worked in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina. I feel as though I have come full circle, and am grateful for the experiences that led me here to Arnaudville, Louisiana, a small community full of creativity, neighborly love, and family-oriented people who share values, recipes, language and last names. Oh, and there is a fair amount of petty gossip, fear mongering and half-truth tellers, but those folks just make life more interesting.
At the end of the day, we are all trying to live out our lives in the hope that we will survive all of the evil and troubles we see as we peer out beyond our porch swings.
I'm Ginger LeCompte. This is my space. Welcome to it.
